Since insurance laws vary from state to state I will leave it to one of the FL. memebers to answer on the state law.
However, when I bought my Savage one of the advantages I felt was that the finance company did not require full coverage because the loan was less than $4000 . This varies from fianance company to finance company (so I was told). You may want to ask about the requirements of your particular lender.
I was nervous about getting the bike stolen or dropping it, so I got full coverage anyway.
